Thoughts about Black Saturday:

"Australia not only stopped to watch to the fire play out on TV, but Australia stopped to support and give to those who needed it. I am pleased that we are not forgetting what happened, and that our community continues to support the victims and their communities.”

Thoughts about Black Saturday:

"I was worried about my mate Steve Griffith, from Collingwood Athletics Club. We waited some 12 hours before we heard he was ok. Phone lines were down, and we had no idea where he was. It was naturally a great relief that he and his family and property (in King Lake) were all fine. I feel for those who had losses on the day, and hope that their pain will be eased by our loving community”

JANE KANIZAY

Mottos:

  • “One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure..”.

Thoughts about Black Saturday:

“My sister (Kerrie) and her husband (Kristian) are CFA volunteers of a small brigade in Victoria. They have shared many stories of the Black Saturday fires and the role of the CFA. Brigades have to do a great deal of fundraising to operate smoothly. Those brigades affected by Black Saturday continue to struggle due to the clear obliteration of their communities. I hope that the people of Australia will see this as a great opportunity to give to these great CFA communities.”
